How To Install Reaction Roles

This guide provides detailed instructions on how to add and set up the Reaction Roles bot on your Discord server. By following these steps, you’ll be able to allow members to self-assign roles by reacting to messages.

Here is the step-by-step process for installing the Reaction Roles bot:

  • Navigate to the official Reaction Roles website.
  • On the homepage, you will find an “Add to Discord” button. Click this to begin the installation process.
  • Alternatively, click the button below to invite the bot to your server.

Add to Discord

  • After clicking the invite link, you will be redirected to Discord’s authorization page.
  • Here, you will be prompted to select the server to which you want to add the bot from a dropdown menu. Click the “Continue” button once you have selected the server.
Select your Discord server
  • Once you have chosen your server, a list of permissions the bot requires to function correctly will be displayed. These typically include permissions to Manage Roles, Send Messages, and Add Reactions. For the bot to work as intended, it is crucial to leave all these permissions checked.
Authorize the bot with the required permissions
  • Click the “Authorize” button to proceed. You may be asked to complete a CAPTCHA or enter your 2FA code to continue.
  • Once authorized, the Reaction Roles bot will be added to your server. You should see a confirmation message, and the bot will appear in your server’s member list.
